As promised, here is the second of our monthly newsletters.
We have now come to the end of March and with 8 games to go, we still have it all to play for. The orn’s are currently 4 point behind the promo chasing pack, and with Forest having a bit of a wobble, and Leeds also dropping a couple of points, it’s a more than do-able task. It’s so important that we get behind the boys in large numbers so we can really push for that playoff place. The lads have had a fantastic season so far, far greater than what was expected of them, so let’s sound our appreciation, and hopefully the lads can grab that playoff spot they deserve.
We resume the domestic campaign tomorrow away to Coventry, and are taking a good number with us. As most of you are aware, we have received the scarves that you chose to put into production, and they will go on sale tomorrow. We will most likely be at JK English Pub Coventry before the game selling them, and then will go on to selling scarves in the ground. They will be sold at £8.50 each and change will be available. If you want a scarf, but can’t find us, give us a text on 07925022450. They will also be on sale at the home game the following weekend against Hull. There are only 50 so get them before they’re gone!
We are still trying to get numbers for the trip to Leicester up so we can book the coach. Those of you who are interested and haven’t declared that interest to me, please do so and leave me you mobile number so I can get hold of you. Tickets for the coach are £15 return which is better than the train and the club coach, and we will be sure to have to banter on the way up and on the way back. I will be able to collect money for that tomorrow at Coventry and at Hull on the 9th as well. Unfortunately because of the demand to hire the coaches, if we do not have enough money to do so by the 9th, we will not be able to book the coach and you will have to make your own way there, which will not be as fun, and will most likely be more expensive. If anybody does pay for the coach, and the trip doesn’t go ahead, no need to worry, I will have your numbers and you will have mine, I will return the £15 at the next home game which is the following Tuesday against Norwich. We are hoping to have a PayPal account set up soon as well, so should be able to refund you via that if you are not able to make the home game against Norwich.
The last home game of season is against local rivals QPR. Whether we are still in with a chance of getting playoffs or not, the lads have had a brilliant season, and have provided us with some really entertaining good football. We will be showing our appreciation by doing a display which will include balloons, confetti, streamers, flags, banners etc. It is also ‘wear a vest day’ in honour of Danny Graham who has scored a phenomenal amount of goals for us this season, and is pretty much nailed on to win player of the season. The idea at the moment is to get some vests and hand them out to people in the rookery, where they can write their message to Danny on them. If you have your own vest you would like to wear, get them out! It will be a good laugh, and it is something the big man has backed himself on twitter!
The next newsletter will be at the end of April when we would have played 7 of the remaining 8 games. So will we still have something to play for in May? Who knows? But let’s do all we can to support the lads, and let’s hope that we will either have a playoff place by May, or we are still in with a chance for grabbing one.
Hope to see everybody tomorrow, if not then at Hull, and don’t forget to grab a scarf before they’re gone, and also a coach ticket for Leicester!
