Hi guys and welcome to the group.
Firstly, we have all been posting away on the facebook page with our ideas and gossip for a few months now, and some of us have been meeting up at home and away matches. So far, against all the odds, this group has been a huge success, far exceeding any expectations we had, so congratulations to everybody involved, and keep up the good work.
My next point, is from now on, I will try and send these newsletter's at the end of every month. If it's not me, one of the other Admins will do it (Roy, Ross, Sam, Ollie or Doug).
For those of you who don't already know, we have got a forum where you can post song ideas (they're not as likely to disappear like they do on facebook) and also have a bit of banter. That is:
theyelloworder.proboards.com
Adam Roe is also in the process of creating another website, which will also have a forum, a news column, a chat session, and an area where you will be able to buy products. This can be found at:
theyelloworder.com
We also have a designated youtube page where you can watch video's of the group in action. Anybody who records video's of us home/away, you can ask one of the admins who will provide you with the login details, and post your video. This can be found at:
youtube.com/user/TheYellowOrder
Furthermore, our numbers in the RS4 section of the Rookery (where the group are unofficially located) are increasing, which is doing us alot of good, as we are obviously able to make more noise, which is helping us acquire positive feedback from other fans. However, out of the 194 currently on the facebook group, we have had a maximum of around 30. It would be great to get at least 50 up there before the end of the season, and then half the amount of people on the facebook page by the end of next season. Just to get a rough idea of how many people will be moving to RS4 next season, please message me back, just to let me know if you are thinking about moving up, and if not, why not?
We think that the group are about the same level as Middlesborough's 'Red Faction' who have been running a few years now. Given the way the group has conducted themselves so far, and the rate at which we are growing, we think we could even be doing as well as, if not better than the HF were when they were in the early stages. That is a credit to everyone on here who contributes on the page, and at the games.
Next on the agenda is the topic of the scarves we have been discussing. As most of you know, we have run a poll for the most popular scarf after many designs were put forward. Firstly, congratulations to everybody who put forward a design. Not one of them looked ridiculous. They were all bright and inventive ideas which is what we need from a group like this. Further congratulations go to Ross who designed the winning scarf which was number 1. This scarf had the clear majority with 13 votes to the runner up which was number 7 with 5 votes. Well done to Ryan who designed that scarf, which did also have a good backing on the facebook page. The design has been put forward to the company we are using to produce 50 of these, and hopefully it will not be too long until we can sell them on to everybody. A price is yet to be decided on, but it will be approximately £8 per scarf and all profit will be reinvested in the order. We will have a later poll to decide what we shall buy with it. The majority are suggesting be buy a surfer flag, but we can think about that once we have acquired the funds. Again, anybody who thinks they will purchase a scarf from us, please could you message me on facebook to let me know you are planning to do so. A further thanks goes to Roy, who is paying to produce the scarves. Without people who are willing to put their neck on the line, and their hands in their pockets, this group will not meet it's potential, so thank you for that.
Finally, there will be a collection on Saturday for the game against Millwall. We will pass the bucket/bag (whatever it is) around at half time. The reccommended donation is £2, which will be held by Ollie until we have decided on what to purchase with it. Any suggestions are welcome, and will be put into the poll which will later go onto the forum.
Once again, thanks to everybody who is working hard to support the group and the team, and congratulations on such a successful first few months.
Hope to see you all on Saturday.
